As the lawn care expert in your area, you will be able to access a lawns condition and create a lawn treatment programme of works to bring it back to and maintain it in tip top condition. As part of your lawn care service to your customers, you will regularly assess their lawn’s condition so you really need to be competent in all issues that can affect a lawn. Therefore a critical part of your initial lawn care business training is ensuring that you have a full understanding all the issues that can affect a lawn’s appearance and health and how to resolve them.
We start by covering lawn nutrition, training you on the roles that the difference fertilisation elements play in the appearance and condition of lawns. We will look at the problems that nutrient deficiency can cause in a lawn and how to rectify this. Our lawn fertilisation regime will be explained in detail in order that you will understand why you are applying difference fertilisers at different times of the year and what effect these will have on your customers’ lawns. You will also develop an understanding of how to amend the lawn treatment cycle when weather conditions dictate.
Lawns also benefit from cultural treatments such as scarification and aeration, you will be taught the theory behind such treatments in order that you can competently and correctly advise your customers as to their benefits. As well as the theory we will also train you in the practical side of these processes. You will have plenty of time to become acquainted with the machinery and its operation in real life situations.
Weeds and moss can cause problems in even the best lawn, we cover, in detail, the causes of weed and moss infestation along with training you on the correct eradication process, so you are confident that you can deal with these issues. Finally, we spend time understanding the fungal issues that develop within lawn and the pests such as leatherjackets, chafer grubs, and ants that can cause chaos in any lawn.
