Thatch

Thatch is decaying organic matter in the lower area of your grass, just above the soil. Over time it builds up into a spongy covering which limits the ability of water and nutrients to get to the root zone of your grass thus depriving your lawn of food and essential nutrients. This layer can be remove by the process of scarification whereby a lawnmower type machine cuts into the thatch area removing the thatch from the lawn surface for raking and collection.

If you would like to discuss scarification or to book a treatment please feel free to contact us.
