Beds and Border Fertilisation

Border Fertilisation for your garden

The easy way to fertilise your plants

Lawnscience already takes care of your lawn, let us take care of feeding the plants in your beds and borders so you get the results you want.

Our plant fertilisation treatments undergo the same rigorous selection process used in the selection of our lawn fertilisers. It’s because we carefully source commercial quality fertilisers that provide the necessary nutrients in the correct proportions so that your plants can thrive and contribute to the beauty of your gardens.

Nutrients

Our PlantPro fertiliser application consists of a Homogeneous NPK fertiliser, coated with plant oils, that control the release of the essential nutrients. This coating controls nutrient release precisely for up to 8 months, ensuring that your plants receive nutrients throughout Spring and Summer.

The NPK makeup of PlantPro provides plants with the right nutrients in the right quantities at the right time. This will promote vigorous, healthy growth, resulting in robust lush plants.

Nitrogen

Nitrogen is one of the key macronutrients, playing an important role in:

  • Leaf and stem growth
  • Photosynthesis
  • Chlorophyll development
  • Protein synthesis

Phosphorus

Phosphorus plays an essential role in energy transfer throughout the plant, contributing to:

  • Root development
  • Improved flowering and fruiting
  • DNA and RNA synthesis
  • Nutrient uptake

Potassium

Potassium plays an important role in the following:

  • Flowerformation
  • Fruit formation
  • Water uptake and retention
  • Disease resistance
  • Photosynthesis
  • Carbohydrate metabolism

Timing of application

The perfect time to apply our PlantPro beds and border fertilsation is March-May, the earlier the better.

The perfect time to apply our annual plant fertiliser is March-May, the earlier the better. This ensures that your plants will receive the nutrients they require all through the season.

Questions and answers

Is your fertiliser effective with ericaceous plants such as Rhododendrons or Azaleas?

Yes, our fertiliser will supply the essential nutrients throughout the growing season. But note, Rhododendrons and Azaleas being ericaceous plants require acidic to neutral soils (Ph7 or lower)

Do I need to water after application?

No, the fertiliser activates when moisture is present therefore this will happen if moisture is already in the soil or when it next rains. If you would like quicker results, just water lightly after application.

What payment options are there?

A fully costed invoice is provided, you can make payment via cash, cheque, or bank transfer. If your application is part of your annual lawn treatment program you can make monthly payments to spread the cost.

Do I have to be home when the treatment is applied?

No, we can apply the treatment and leave an invoice. Please ensure we can access your garden.
