Lawns and Ants

Are you and your family looking forward to spending time outdoors in your garden this Summer? If you are like many of us in the UK, you may have some uninvited guests in your lawn and the surrounding areas to deal with first. Lawn Ants can be a real problem in your lawn and garden, they will also get under paving and patios. Some species of Lawn Ants can dig down a metre or more. Imagine the damage that multiple nests of Ants can do around your garden.

f you have an infestation of Lawn Ants, it can be very difficult to control. A colony can contain thousands of ants all working very hard to find food, especially anything sweet. Ants can carry bacteria which is harmful to us humans. They are known to contract Salmonella which could become widespread throughout your home and onto your food. They sting too!

Foraging worker ants become a nuisance as they search for food.  Starting outside the home and then moving inside in the search for food. They will nest almost anywhere around your garden or home. In your gardens, they will excavate around the plant and grassroots and make the soil excessively dry. Once an Ant colony moves into your home and garden it will be a real challenge to get rid of them. Dealing with an Ant infestation should be dealt with as soon as it occurs otherwise it will be even harder to deal with.

Most home and garden owners who attempt to control Lawn Ants, find that many of the DIY products used only offer a temporary solution. Understanding the ant population and finding all entry points into your garden and home is necessary when attempting to deal with an infestation.  The success of killing Ants not only relies on the use of specific insecticides, but also on the correct application and placement. We offer effective, fast and affordable services to safely treat Ant nests and minimise damage to your lawn and garden.
