Disease Management

red Thread

Disease infections are becoming more common in UK lawns as our weather patterns are forever changing.

The heavy, short bursts of rain during periods of warm weather create the ideal conditions for fungal pathogens that live within the soil and attack the grass plant. These infections can be aesthetic only, as in the case of Red Thread, and Rust. However, they  can be fatal as with Fusarium and Anthracnose.

Lawn Disease Management is an important part of regular lawn care. It is important to be able to identify any lawn diseases that your lawn has and understand why it is occurring. Great lawn care involves preventative as well as curative treatments and services.

The perfect way to minimise disease infection is to keep your lawn as healthy as possible with good lawn disease management.

This can be achieved with an annual fertilisation programme and addressing cultural needs such as scarification and aeration when needed.

If your lawn is looking a little under the weather,  or there are early signs of fungal disease, contact us for a professional opinion.  Take advantage of the Lawnscience lawn review service.
