Lawnscience Franchise expansion continues. Although COVID 19 has caused financial havoc in several industries throughout the UK, Lawnscience continues to post record-breaking sales results. Lawnscience M.D. Terry Nicholson comments “We, in the lawn care business have been very lucky during this period of difficult trading for many businesses. Last year business was slightly affected in the first two weeks of lockdown as a few of our customers were initially hesitant about having treatments applied. But when they realised that we were operating in a safe manner this initial hesitancy was quickly resolved. In 2020 we saw a significant increase in sales throughout the UK and the results from the first quarter of 2021 are showing increases in the 2020 figures.”

Lawnscience expands its network with the addition of two business owners

In 2021 Lawnscience increased its UK operations to 24 outlets with the addition of Guildford and Cumbria. Terry Nicholson comments “I’m really pleased to welcome Graham and Andrew to the business, they both completed their initial training via a blend of online training sessions, as a result of COVID restrictions, and practical on-site sessions in February and already have had a good start to their businesses.

Guildford: Graham Wheeler

Graham Wheeler Lawn Care Expert

Graham had worked in a number of industries, his last position being an HGV driver. He owns the Guildford business starting in March 2021, asked about his impressions of owning his own business he commented “I always wanted to work for myself, it was a to take control of my life and be my own boss. Having taken the step, I’m glad I did. The training invaluable, especially the practical side of things. Nothing beats having practiced the fundamentals with practical guidance. My business has been running now for two and a half months and I’veve already passed my initial expectations. I really enjoy meeting potential new clients and explaining how I can make improvements to their lawns. It’s early days at present, but I can already see the potential of my business to grow. It’s always difficult to make major changes in your life, but I’m glad I did.”

Cumbria: Andrew Dickinson

Lawn Care your support

Andrew also joined the Lawnscience team from the distribution industry where he worked as a depot manager. Andrew owns the Cumbria business. “I enjoyed the corporate life, but always had the nagging desire to own my own business and have the control. I also wanted to work outside in the fresh air, so Lawnscience ticked quite a few boxes for me. My Business started in April 2021, so it is early days. However, I can already appreciate that Lawnscience has provided me with a good foundation on which I can build for my future. Business is processing well in these early days and I am already ahead of there I thought I would be. I’m in a really good place at present. I’m in a good place at present, really happy with the decision I made and looking forwards to building a business and my future with Lawnscience.”

Opportunities to join the Lawnscience network still exist in most regions of the UK
